Catching Up (for you, Aunt Mo)

I got an email the other day from my Aunt Maureen, asking why I haven't blogged lately, and what's going on in my life!

So here's an update for y'all.

We just returned from an awesome trip to New York and New Jersey, where we got to hang out with my brother and his wife, go to a taping of David Letterman, see Wicked (awesome!) and Cyrano de Bergerac (eh), geocache in Central Park, see the city from the top of the Rockefeller Center, hit a few museums, eat some awesome food, and get a little more cultured.
in The Highline, a park made on a deserted railway.
(we also took a nap on a bench in this park, since we were unable to sleep on our red-eye flight)
Central Park.

Rockefeller Center

My new favorite picture of Ryan.

We had a nice time, and it was great to see Sam and Yulia, but we are sure glad to be home to this boy.

I swear he grew a foot while we were gone.

Ryan decided not to finish his schooling. He already has two degrees, and a third would just mean eight years of stress with no additional pay. I am very relieved about this decision. We've been taking advantage of his extra free time by doing stuff such as

indoor skydiving

hiking (can you believe those colors?)

and going on family bike rides.

Rowan had his 15 month appointment last week. He is in the 90th percentile for height and about 50th for everything else. He is so smart and observant. He recently discovered how hilarious Elmo is. A big improvement on being terrified of Sesame Street a few months ago.

Here he is with his BFF Gordy, who lives through the wall from us. They are two weeks apart in age and it's so much fun.

I just got a job working from home. I'm very excited about it. Not only is it with a fantastic company with great benefits (and in a field I've always wanted to work in), but it means we will be traveling a lot in the near future.

Well, that's all I can think of that's happened to us in the last few months. I'd like to say I'll try to blog more, but that would be a lie. :)
